Data quality checks ensure you maximise your income from Locally Commissioned Services by highlighting any areas that require review, such as missing coding, to ensure you don’t miss out on payment for claimable activity.
How to fix Data Quality Issues:
Select Show Patient Information – Identify the patient by finding the most recent appointment (Apex provides the Date, Time and Clinician) and cross-reference this with the appointment book in your Clinical System.
Once you have identified the patient:
1) Review the consultation to identify whether the activity itself is claimable
2) Use ‘Definition/Rules’ to identify the procedure, admin, registration or medication code that is missing from the relevant contract and whether the code needs to be added to the same consultation or on the same day.
3) Add the code to the patient record in your clinical system
4) Allow 24 – 48 hours for the data to stream and update in Apex
5) If the Data Quality issue has been rectified, it will automatically be included in your submission
